Street style: haute couture and spring!

Dear reader,
Between the fantasy loaded fashion week that is Paris haute couture, among raff Simons colorful 60’s vibe collection, running through the impressionist garden that composed Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel, and the magnificent east European farmer look that Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Piccioli managed to elevate, fashion bloggers and journalists have had a wonderful time describing which collections were their favorites and why, but among their descriptions of future trends, and detail filled chronicles of the week, most people that belong to the fashion industry’s media have forgotten to look at what is to me the most creative and fun part of all the fashion weeks, street style.

Runways are, In my opinion, a look to the future, that’s why they are presented before the season they are intended to be worn; on the other hand street style is a look to the present, an elevated, sometimes over the top, sometimes minimalistic, way to look at the trends that should be followed this season; sometimes it is fur, sometimes, it is stripes, sometimes it is the 70’s, but street style never fails to show an artistic, fun, beautiful way  to wear the trends.

These are some of my favorite pictures from the street style in paris haute couture fashion week; some treds that should be followed this spring, like tailoring, bold colours, fur, and statement purses, are evident here:

  1. I loved this spring´s Chanel and Dior! Chanel is always my favourite when it comes to haute couture, but this time Dior overdid itself. What I really like about the haute couture garments are the videos depicting their creation, it is unbelievable how much work goes in it, be sure to check them out on youtube, in case you are not familiar with them, they are super informative.
I recently wrote >> a blogpost on midiskirts<<, a trend that was popular in SS15 collections, check it out if interested :)

    1. Hey! i'm glad you read my post and took the time to comment, it's always nice to hear about the opinions people have on the topics i talk about on my blog, it helps me broaden my point of view and understand what my readers like. I also loved Chanel and Dior, but if i had to choose my favourites this season it would be between Dior and Valentino; i've also seen the videos that depict the making of these collections, and i find them extremely pleasing and interesting to watch, Haute couture is definitely more about the art in the making than the wearing it self, and i like you recommend them to anyone that loves fashion.
      thanks again for reading,
